CODORA (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our AI-powered gamified coding learning management system.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you register for an account, we collect your name, email address, and any optional profile information you provide (institution, department, USN, bio, and social links).

1.2 Authentication Data

If you sign in using a third-party provider (Google, GitHub), we receive basic profile information from that provider. Passwords are securely hashed and never stored in plain text.

1.3 Academic Data

We collect data related to your academic activities, including course enrollments, assignment submissions, quiz attempts, grades, code submissions, and participation in live sessions.

1.4 Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with the platform, including pages visited, features used, session durations, and coding activity logs during live sessions.

1.5 Code Submissions

Code submitted for assignments and during live sessions is stored for grading, review, and educational purposes. Code is executed in sandboxed environments (Piston/Judge0) and is not shared outside the educational context.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the CODORA platform
  • To authenticate your identity and manage your account
  • To facilitate course enrollment, assignment submission, and grading
  • To power gamification features (XP, badges, leaderboards, streaks)
  • To provide AI-powered tutoring and question generation
  • To enable real-time collaborative coding sessions
  • To generate academic reports (OBE, CO attainment, SAR reports)
  • To send you important account and course notifications

3. AI & Third-Party Services

CODORA integrates with AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) for features such as AI tutoring, assignment generation, and quiz generation. When you use these features, relevant context (e.g., lesson content, your question) may be sent to these providers. We do not send your personal information to AI providers.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data in the following cases:

  • Instructors: Your instructors can view your submissions, grades, and participation data for courses you are enrolled in.
  • Administrators: Platform administrators can access user management data.
  • Leaderboard: If enabled in your profile settings, your display name and XP may appear on public leaderboards.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted passwords (bcrypt), HTTPS encryption, JWT-based authentication, rate limiting, account lockout protection, and security headers (CSP, HSTS, XSS protection).

6. Data Retention

Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. Academic records (submissions, grades) may be retained for accreditation and reporting purposes. You may request deletion of your account by contacting your institution's administrator.

7. Your Rights

  • Access your personal data via your profile page
  • Update or correct your information at any time
  • Control your privacy settings (profile visibility, leaderboard participation)
  • Request export of your academic data
  • Request account deletion through your administrator

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (session tokens) and preference storage (theme settings). We do not use third-party tracking cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

CODORA is designed for higher education institutions. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 16.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.
